Told You So™

A small archive of potentially embarrassing confidence.

Predictions are cheap. Human memory is cheaper. So this page removes memory from the process.

01

Make the claim

Written before the result is known: the claim, the assumptions, the confidence, the evaluation criteria, the reveal condition, and where possible an expiry date.

02

Freeze it

Packaged into a canonical file. From here, that file is the prediction — not our later recollection of it.

03

Seal it

The original is encrypted so it stays private until the reveal.

04

Publish the commitment

A cryptographic hash of the original goes public. It's a fingerprint. Change one character of the original and the fingerprint changes.

05

Let reality do whatever it wants

Generally the inconvenient part.

06

Reveal

When the condition is met, we publish the original and the verification data. Anyone can check that the revealed file produces the same commitment.
